Big Oil still getting their $4 B

Yep Big Oil companies here in the US will continue to get their $4B in subsidies. You know they will go broke if they don't get that from the US taxpayer every year. Never mind how much profit they are making. Most all the Republicans and a few Democrats voted to not take them away. You know if they did they would lose several hundred millions of dollars in campaign contributions and gifts. Now that there is no limit to how much an organization can donate, it is much easier to buy politicians and a whole lot easier for our members of congress to sell their souls.
Obama and others has asked to take this away but no way! Doesn't seem to bother these members of Congress to cut Medicare and other programs that the elderly and needy use.
Companies like Exxon must really need the subsidy. They can't seem to make enough profit to ever pay any taxes. Poor folks. Maybe we ought to give them a few more billions just to make sure they can continue to operate!
Maybe we will have nationalize the oil here in the US just like they have had to do in other countries. This would never solve all the problems but may help. Who knows!!!!

Revenue to Land Owners?

How is the revenue to land owners calculated? This is something that has always puzzled me. There is a history of cheating and corruption involved with this. Now in South Texas most of the drilling is deep in to pools of oil that span hundreds of miles. These pools sit underneath the land of many different people but only a few end up getting revenue. In reality everyone in an entire region who owns land should receive a portion of the revenue. There are many examples of one land owner making millions per year of oil and a neighbor makes nothing. How is this possible when in truth the oil is under both properties.
I sure that the oil leasing procedure really needs to be looked at and changed if possible. Again in Texas big oil companies and big oil landowners have incredible power and control in the state. Later.

Oil in Texas doesn't pay much in taxes compared to other states.

Oil in Texas doesn't pay much in taxes compared to other states.

There are only two or three nations in the world where the public doesn't own the oil resources. The United States is one. Texas when compared to other states does not receive very much tax revenue when looking at amount of oil producted. Most all the states compared to Alaska have low tax rates on oil production. I am putting together graphs and figures to show this better. Until then....

Oil Field Trash Has No Future

Throughout the history of the oilfields "Oilfield Workers" have little or no future. Nothing has changed in todays world. Only difference is they live in RV parks now instead of tents. South Texas is a great example of this. Took a trip down south of Dilley, Texas the other day to visit someone. Cotulla was the town. Not a good scene. Oil field workers living in what ever they can find. Most of the places are old RV or super dumpy buildings. These people work hard but it is difficult to find a decent place to stay. If they have family it would be impossible to bring them there. Why would you want to move a family to a place like this. Beside the oilfield comes and goes and in a year or two or less the work in this area may disappear. Then what do you go.
The message behind this is that the big oil owners and landowners with a lot of oil will walk away with 90% of the money that is produced in the area. The workers and people who do all the work will come away with very little and nothing for the future. This has been the history of the oil business in Texas for many years.

Information About Greed in Texas. Mostly Oil.

This is a new blog. An issue that I have been thinking about for some time. Having been involved with the oilfield transportation business on and off over a period of many years I guess I is about time to write concerning many of the serious problems that the oil and petroleum business have caused and are still causing today. Especially in the state of Texas. Anyone having information or example worth reporting or writing about please feel free to share them with me. The general public has little or no idea of many of the problems caused by the oil industry. I will use information and examples from around the world to help explain or show how Texas is headed for serious problems
